Powermax 65/85/105 Consumable Part Numbers Chart (Compatible / WS OEMed)

Nov 2, 2026

Updated: 2026-11-02 Slug: /powermax-65-85-105-consumable-part-numbers-chart

TL;DR

You’re on a 65 / 85 / 105 Duramax-style torch and the cut looks rough—or you’re stocking the drawer before it does. Shop by ref. code + amps + process, not the badge on the power supply. WeldingStop carries compatible / WS OEMed aftermarket electrodes, tips, shields, swirl rings, and caps that cross to common industry numbers like 220842 (electrode) and 220819 (65A tip). Not Hypertherm OEM unless the product page says so out loud.

Applicable / Not applicable

Applicable Not applicable
Powermax-class systems running 65 / 85 / 105 series (Duramax-style) hand or machine torches Powermax 30 / 30 XP / 45 and 125 families (different tip/electrode stacks—browse H/T by series)
Matching ref. codes on WeldingStop pages (WSMX / WS OEMed) Calling aftermarket parts Hypertherm-branded or “OEM genuine”
Drag, FineCut, and gouge stacks when tip + shield are sold as a matched set Dropping a FineCut tip behind a standard drag shield “because it threaded on”
Replacing tip + electrode together when cut quality falls off Life-hour or “better than OEM” claims (we don’t make those here)

Quick answer: which tip / electrode?

  1. Confirm torch series—65 / 85 / 105 Duramax-style. The cutter model sticker alone isn’t enough.
  2. Confirm current + process (45A / 65A / 85A / 105A; FineCut; gouge).
  3. Match the ref. code stamped on the old part (or your cut chart) to the WS listing.
  4. Swap electrode + nozzle as a pair once the hafnium pit is deep or the orifice goes oval.
Need Typical ref. code (compatible / WS OEMed) Start here
Everyday electrode (65/85/105 series) 220842 WSMX 220842 Electrode
Alternate electrode listing (same series) 220777 WSMX 220777 Electrode
65A cutting tip 220819 WSMX 220819 Tip 65A
45A cutting tip 220941 Listed in 65/85/105 collection
85A cutting tip 220816 Same collection
105A cutting tip 220990 Same collection / product pages
FineCut tip 220930 (+ FineCut shield 220931) Same collection
Gouging tip 220797 (+ gouging shield 220798) WSMX 220797 Gouging Tip

If you’re running FineCut on a 65, start at 220930 + 220931—not a leftover 220819 with whatever shield is in the bin.

Consumable part-number chart (65 / 85 / 105 series)

Brand names and OEM-style numbers below are fitment IDs only. WS items are aftermarket / WS OEMed / not original on the product page unless that listing clearly says original genuine.

Electrodes

Ref. code Role Series fit (per WS listings) Notes
220842 Electrode 65 / 85 / 105 series Everyday electrode SKU; product page states Is Original: No
220777 Electrode 65 / 85 / 105 series Alternate listing in the same category—read amperage/process on the page before you click buy

Cutting / FineCut / gouging tips (nozzles)

Ref. code Amp / process Typical use
220941 45A tip Thinner plate / lower current
220819 65A tip Standard 65A cutting on 65/85/105 series torches
220816 85A tip Where the cut chart calls for 85A
220990 105A tip 105A cutting on a 105 series torch
220930 FineCut tip Narrower kerf—pair with FineCut shield
220797 Gouging tip Weld prep / metal removal—pair with gouging shield

Common pitfall: torch series says “fits 85,” so someone runs a 220819 at 85A because it threaded on. Tip amp has to match the process setting. Series fit ≠ “any tip, any amp.”

Suggested stacks (shopping start—not a cut chart)

Use your machine’s cut chart for speed, pressure, and thickness. This table is just where most shops start ordering.

Process Electrode Tip Shield / related
Standard drag / standoff (match amp to tip) 220842 (or confirm 220777 on page) 220941 / 220819 / 220816 / 220990 220817 or 220818 (or 220992 at 105A drag)
FineCut Same electrode family 220930 220931
Gouging Same electrode family 220797 220798

Add a swirl ring and retaining cap if yours are cracked, clogged, or missing seals. Don’t rebuild half a stack and wonder why starts are soft.

When to replace (condition-based)

Part Replace when Risk if you wait
Electrode Hafnium pit is deep (shop rule of thumb ~1/16 in / 1.6 mm—follow your torch maker’s limit) Soft starts, then you melt the new tip
Tip / nozzle Orifice oval, enlarged, or nicked Wide kerf, bevel, dross that won’t clean
Shield Cracks, deformed exit, slag that won’t chip off Arc wander, short risk
Swirl ring Cracked body, clogged holes, chewed seals Bad starts, uneven cut

Ordering checklist

  1. Photo or write down the ref. code on the old tip and electrode.
  2. Confirm series + amperage + process in the WeldingStop title.
  3. Prefer matched tip + electrode (and the right FineCut/gouge shield).
  4. Read Is Original / Aftermarket—WS OEMed means compatible replacement, not Hypertherm OEM.
  5. Stock / lead time: live product page, or Contact US for wholesale / OEM inquiry.

FAQ

Are these Hypertherm original parts? No—unless that specific SKU title/description says original genuine. Most WSMX 65/85/105 consumables are WeldingStop aftermarket / WS OEMed.

Can I use a 220819 tip on an 85A or 105A torch? Only when the cut chart and process call for a 65A tip on that torch. Amperage on the tip must match the setting. “Fits the series” is not “run it at any amp.”

220819 vs 220930 (FineCut)? 220819 = standard 65A cutting tip. 220930 = FineCut tip—run it with the FineCut shield stack (220931), not as a casual swap for every job.

Where do I add to cart? For H/T Plasma Torch, then the electrode/tip pages above (220842, 220819, 220797, etc.).
